Senior Lunch and Learn at 12 pm on Monday, October 1

This month’s topic is “Senior Dental Health” presented by Dr. Christine Golis.  A complimentary lunch is served. Co-sponsored by the Senior Resource Center. 

“ADHD: What You Need to Know to Help Children Succeed” at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 3.

Dr. Cassandra M Faraci will discuss causes of ADHD and evidence-based strategies adults can use to help children with ADHD succeed.

“Social Networking for Small Business” at 7 pm on Monday, October 8.

Small businesses can’t afford not to be active on social media. Learn what it takes to be successful at social media marketing without a lot of resources.

 Self Defense Seminar at 7 pm on Thursday, October 11.

A master level instructor from MooShim Tae Kwon Do will conduct this exciting introductory one hour class designed to give you practical applications that you can employ in a threatening situation as well as providing tools to heighten awareness levels.

“The Witchcraft Craze” at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 16.  

During the 16th and 17th centuries about 60,000 people in Europe and in the American colonies were executed for being witches. In this program, we will explore several aspects of the craze including the causes, the people who were accused, the end of the craze and its effects on society.

College Funding Seminar at 7 pm on Thursday, October 18

Local college funding expert, Al Newell of Solutions for College Funding, shows parents how to get the most money for their children’s college education.

Nolan Asch presents “The U.S. Constitution” at 7:30 pm on Monday, October 22.

Serving as the “supreme law of the land,” the Constitution established the government, laws and basic rights for U.S. citizens.  Asch will explore the history behind the U.S. Constitution, the nation’s founding document that has remained in effect for more than two centuries.

Friends of the Chester Library “Wine with Friends” at 7 pm on Friday, October 12

The Friends of the Chester Library invite you to attend our second annual “Wine with Friends” on Friday, October 12 at 7 pm. Enjoy an evening featuring international and domestic wines to taste, hors d’oeuvres, chocolates, a silent auction and music. This year, attendees will have the option of participating in a wine tasting seminar at 6 pm (prior to the wine tasting) by Chris Cree, Master of Wine. Tickets for the wine tasting are $55 in advance and $65 at the door. Tickets for the wine tasting plus the seminar must be purchased in advance and are $80. Adult Craft Time at 1 pm on Thursday, October 25th

Chester resident Georgia Case is back this fall to help us make unique, beautiful cards. She will share her secrets with us and help us make our own Halloween and Thanksgiving card for that special someone. You’ll leave the class with a card much more personal and special than the best Hallmark or Papyrus design!

Online Businesses and NJ Taxes at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, October 28

Thinking about starting an online business? This course will teach you about taxable products and services, sales inside and outside of New Jersey, shipping products, collecting New Jersey sales tax and filing sales and use tax returns.

Classic Hatha Yoga is a gentle style of Yoga. It is well suited for everyone including the newcomer and those who want to continue focusing on the fundamentals of the basic Yoga poses and correct breathing. Instruction from the School of Royal Yoga, Chester.  Register online at www.chesterlib.org.

BUNCO @ CHESTER LIBRARY  Thursday, October 25 @ 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM
