Clean Up Your Computer on Wednesday, May 1 at 7 pm

Learn how to get the most out of your current computer by cleaning up clutter and improving performance, and learning what cost-effective upgrades will allow you to extend its usefulness.

Senior Lunch and Learn on Monday, May 6 at 7 pm

Andy Cohn Morris of Arden Courts will discuss fundamental ways to embrace self-care.  As the source of care for our loved ones, we often forget or postpone our own care.  We will discuss self-care tips, brainstorm new outlets and encourage each other in our different caring roles.  A complimentary lunch is served. The Four Vagabonds: Edison, Ford, Firestone, & Burroughs on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm

For one week during each year of the decade from 1915 – 1924, these four giants (of invention, industry and science) – Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and Charles Burroughs – went camping together each summer. Lecturer Dan Rose will discuss the adventures of this famed quartet, who captivated the public imagination as they “roughed it,” chopping wood, cooking meals and exchanging ideas around the campfire.

Author Talk: Dr. Peggy Delong “I Can See Clearly Now” on Thursday, May 9 at 7 pm

Dr. Peggy DeLong, clinical and forensic psychologist with a private practice in Long Valley, NJ, will discuss her recently released book “I Can See Clearly Now”.   Dr. DeLong’s memoir describes how one woman harnessed the power of love and gratitude to heal and grow.  Despite the sadness, Peggy’s book offers hope, humor, inspiration and a poignant love story that will lift your spirits with promise.  Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Emerald Ash Borer – What You Need to Know on Monday, May 13 at 7 pm

The anticipated death of nearly 25 million ash trees, mostly in northern New Jersey, will be the topic of discussion. Joseph Dunn, Manager of the Morris County Soil Conservation District for the past 30 years is both a NJ Certified Tree Expert and NJ Approved Forester. He will discuss the origins of this insect, its life cycle and the current spread of the infestation both in the USA and New Jersey.

Preserving Your Family’s Memories on Thursday, May 16 at 7 pm

This 1.5-hour, hands-on workshop will examine the hows and whys of preserving letters, diaries, scrapbooks, works on paper, photographs, slides, textiles, audio and video recordings, and other historical objects. Deb Schiff, the Chester Library’s Local History Librarian, also will share her secrets for where to shop for reliable supplies online. Attendees are encouraged to bring an item with them. Co-sponsored by the Chester Historical Society.

Join Jessica Weaver, CFP, Retirement Advisor, Author, and Financial Blogger as she discusses the 3 ways to gain financial stability, financial freedom, and financial security in your life. You will learn tools and tips to start implementing immediately to pay off debt, save more money, and live your best life today and tomorrow. Trivia Night with “Trivia Revolution” on Thursday, May 30 at 7 pm

The Chester Library welcomes “Trivia Revolution” for a fun Trivia Night for adults, teens and families. We’re having a professional host, music, snacks and prizes. Meet new friends by joining a team when you arrive or bring your family and/or friends and form your own. Great for all adults, teens and families with kids 8 and up.

Are you a Mahjong player and looking for a group? Our Mahjong group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 1 pm and is accepting new players. No instruction is provided so you must know how to play.
